Thursday Competition Info
1. Structure
- Thursday night is intended to provide players the opportunity to play billiards and full frames of snooker on alternate weeks
- Entries close strictly at 5:00 pm with games commencing as soon as possible thereafter. The entry fee is $5.00
- Structure is round robin style with each player playing 3 games
- Snooker games consist of 15 reds, Billiards is the first to 75 points
- The player/s gaining the most wins on the night will either take or share equally the "pot" of entry fees
- An odd number of players will result in one player receiving a BYE and thus an automatic win in one of their games
- The number of players is currently capped at 16 to ensure we complete games before the club closing time of 10:00 pm.
2. Handicapping
- Players are graded as either Grade S, Grade 1, Grade 2 or Grade 3 where Grade S is for the most expert.
- Known first time players on a Thursday will be graded accordingly. New unknown players will initially be graded as after their first evening with us for which they shall placed on Grade 1.
- A nightly winner's (all 3 Games) handicap will REDUCE by 10.
- A non winner's handicap INCREASES for the next competition night as follows.

The committee reserves the right to start a more expert player at a lower level.

- The maximum start for any snooker match is 60.
- In any billiards game any player must score at least 25 points to reach the winning level (currently 75). Thus the maximum start for a billiards will be 50.
